Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Things To Do On A Rainy Day with Four Kids Under 8 Annmarie McKenna
1. Visit the Rec Plex for swimming, ice skating, rock climbing.
2. Play games--Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, Go Fish, etc.
3. Read Books--just not mommie's books :)
4. Paint
5. Get out the kids cookbook and let them make whatever they want.
6. Put up a tent and have an indoor campout.
7. Picnic on the carpet.
8. Head to the movies.
9. Tumble Drum is always a winner. For the kids at least.
10. Grab your umbrella and galoshes and join the raindrops. You know you want to...
11. Mud wrestling. Take lots of pictures.
12. Put on a fashion show. Even my 2 yr. old son loves this.
13. There's always Cat in the Hat...

I'm so glad I only have to entertain one! It's much easier.

I don't have kids, but have done enough babysitting in my life that I've done just about everything on your list on a rainy day. Awesome list!

Happy TT!

But if you read Mommie's books, then you could all go to therapy next and that would give you a 14th thing to do on a rainy day. :)

Great list - I have 2 under 4 (and one who's 12) and let me tell you, when it rains, it gets pretty crazy around here. A like the fashion show idea, I think I'll try that next time. :)

I can remember doing all 13 of your things. I have a teenager now, but my brother is having a baby and he and his wife work, so I've volunteered to watch the baby, that means I'll be getting to do all that fun stuff again. I can't wait to buy playdoh and fingerpaints.

The best time I had with a bunch [6 of them] under 8 year olds was making pop-up cards for their parents for the holidays. What a blast, and who knew glitter/glue sticks were such a hit!

Keeping them active is the key! It's been a long time since mine, now grown, were little, but I do remember the rainy days. And yeah, sometimes you just have to let them go out and play in the rain...they love that ;-)

Snort. I'm thinking the mus wrestling photos are going to be darn good blackmail items at prom time.

It's still too cold to dance in the rain we're having today, but we love dancing in a summer rain. And building dams.

When all fails, there is the horror known as Chuck E. Cheese.

oooo...I love Candyland. I'm coming over!

Happy T13! I think the rain is moving in on us here too!

We don't read mommy's books either, LOL!

Since we live where it rains a lot, I've found indoor tents to be a godsend!

I have been having a dream of a week. Rainy, and cold until yesterday, but NO KIDS. They went to their grandparents' house for spring break. I will have to deprogram them though:)
